Stump Grinding

Our standard stump grinding goes 6–8 inches below grade, turning stumps into beneficial mulch you can reuse in your landscaping. Need it deeper? We can grind up to 14 inches below grade upon request for an additional charge.

Complete Stump Removal — By Special Request

Full stump and root-ball removal is available only in special situations and is not part of our standard stump grinding service. Because this type of removal may require specialized rental equipment, availability and pricing are determined on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for an estimate.

Why Remove Stumps?

Don't Let Old Stumps Cost You

Leaving tree stumps in your yard isn't just an eyesore — it creates real problems for your property, your family's safety, and your landscaping goals.

Safety Hazards

Stumps are tripping hazards for kids, guests, and anyone walking your property. They also damage lawn mowers and equipment.

Pest Infestations

Decaying stumps attract termites, ants, beetles, and rodents — pests that can spread to your home and healthy trees.

Curb Appeal & Property Value

Old stumps drag down your home's appearance and can affect property value. A clean yard makes a powerful first impression.

More Usable Yard Space

Every stump you remove is space you can use — for a garden, play area, patio, new trees, or just open lawn.

Healthier Landscaping

Decaying stumps can spread fungus and disease to nearby healthy trees and plants. Removal stops the spread.

How It Works

Simple, Fast, and Hassle-Free

We've streamlined the process so you can get your yard back with minimal disruption. Here's what to expect.

01

Get Your Free Estimate

Call us or fill out the form. We'll discuss your needs, ask a few quick questions about your stumps, and give you a no-obligation quote — usually the same day.

02

Underground Utilities Are Marked

Before work begins, we coordinate with a professional utility locating service to identify and mark underground utility lines at the property. This helps ensure the work area is clearly marked and ready before we begin stump grinding.

03

Stump Removal

We grind every stump on your list. We work efficiently but carefully, protecting your surrounding landscape and property.

04

Choose Your Cleanup Option

After grinding, choose the finish that works best for your property: we can rake the wood chips back into the hole and leave them onsite, haul the chips away and leave the area ready for your own topsoil and seed, or complete the job by bringing in topsoil and seed for you.

FAQs

Common Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. Here's what homeowners across Eagle, Summit, and Chaffee Counties ask most often.

How much does stump removal cost?
Cost depends on several factors, including the size, number, location, accessibility, and condition of the stumps, as well as the cleanup option you choose. Every job is different, so we provide free, no-obligation estimates based on the specific needs of your property. Contact us for an accurate quote.
How long does stump grinding take?
Most single-stump jobs take 30–60 minutes. Multiple stumps on a property typically take a half-day to full day. We'll give you a time estimate with your free quote.
Will stump grinding damage my yard?
We take great care to protect your property. Our equipment is designed to access tight spaces without tearing up your lawn. Any minor surface disruption around the stump is temporary and easily repaired.
What happens to the wood chips after grinding?
The stump grinding process creates natural mulch. We can leave it for you to use in garden beds and landscaping (it's great for moisture retention), or we can haul it away — your choice.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. We carry full liability insurance and workers' compensation. You can have complete peace of mind when our team is on your property.
Do I need to be home during the work?
No — as long as we have access to the stumps, you don't need to be present. Many homeowners give us the go-ahead and we handle everything while they're at work.
How deep do you grind?
We grind 6–8 inches below grade as our standard depth. If deeper grinding is needed, we can grind deeper upon request.
